COVID 19 - General Information

Please note: all Covid-19 policies are based on current UK government guidelines and are being constantly reviewed based on the latest advice. With that in mind, some of the information you receive at the time of booking may be out of date by the time you stay at the hotel. Please keep check on our Covid-19 Information page for the latest information.

We re-open on 4th July 2020. We have implemented various procedures and protocols into our risk assessment to ensure full compliance with Government guidelines. These are to ensure your safety, and that of our staff, and ourselves.  It will, however, mean that things are slightly different from usual, and we will be asking for your cooperation with a few things.

CLEANING & SANITISING PROTOCOLS:
In addition to our high standards and 100% score  for cleanliness in our VisitEngland assessment, we have inplemented the following steps:

  •  Increased frequency of cleaning our public areas (including the porch, hallway, stairwells, corridors, door handles etc.)
  • Thorough cleaning and sanitising of each apartment between stays,  using industrial, high-quality disinfecting /virucidal equipment - see below
  • Installation of hand-sanitisers at front and rear entrances for guests to use when entering the building, and provided a virucidal spray for misting off door handles and touch points
  • Removed tourist information leaflets  from the hallway ( to avoid cross contamination) - there will an individual pack made up for you left in the apartment
  • Removed  some decorative cushions and throws, ornaments, have been kept to a minimum cushions from the apartments.

Cleaning will take extra time – we now have to “double clean” – first our usual high level cleaning, and then going over everything again with a virucidal sanitiser.
We are unable to offer the usual mid stay clean if you are staying for longer than a week, but we will provide clean bedding and towels for you.
We also have to rewash crockery (even clean stuff) between guests.  This means that we need extra time for each changeover, so arrival and departure times will now be 4pm arrival (rather than 3pm), and 10am am departure .  We understand it is inconvenient, but it is really important that you allow us this extra time to ensure your safety.  Please help us by observing these times. As always - if we can facillitate an earlier check in, we will be happy to do so.

IF YOU FALL ILL DURING YOUR STAY:
Latest guidelines:
 https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-advice-for-accommodation-providers?fbclid=IwAR0NOzGxzBcJ2q5Gn8A7fBfsXIGyqnFpzWG-zLYdpMJpFVC-q2JXxvz98P8
If a guest is displaying signs of the coronavirus (COVID-19) virus while staying in overnight accommodation for a permitted reason, they should inform the accommodation provider, immediately self-isolate where they are to minimise any risk of transmission, and request a test. If they are confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID-19), they should return home if they reasonably can. They should use private transport but only drive themselves if they can do so safely. If a guest cannot reasonably return home (for example because they are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), their circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority.

The accommodation provider and guest should discuss next steps as soon as possible. If the guest is unable to return home, the accommodation provider and guest should discuss meal and laundry provision, and accommodation providers should consider whether symptomatic guests should clean their own rooms and strip their own beds.

Unless otherwise provided for in the contractual terms of the booking, the guest will be expected to pay the costs of an extended stay in all but exceptional circumstances.

BEFORE LEAVING :
Please open all windows to ventilate the apartment  - please do not leave the ground floor apartment Shells or apartment Sand insecure unless we arrived at the property to say farewell. The windows can be left open in the upstairs apartments.

Please Strip your Beds -  Not glamorous, on the last day of your holiday, we know.  The Government is advising we have to assume that someone in your party COULD be carrying the virus.  The main route for contracting the virus is airborne, and it is considered that removing bedding could make the virus airborne, which is why they advise asking guests to strip the beds themselves.

Please empty all bins (including bathroom bins) and put into the outside bins.

Please fill the dishwasher with a full load of crockery and cutlery and set it running before leaving (do not empty it).  We are now required to re-wash everything between guests, so it would help hugely if you could put all plates, cutlery, cups etc in the dishwasher before leaving, not just your breakfast things.

We kindly ask that you follow these procedures for the safety and comfort of yourself, your family , and that of your fellow guests.  Your co-operation and assistance is greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions or concerns we are happy to answer any questions.
